A NEW NIGERIA

There is about to be a re-creation in Nigeria. There is a process of evolution that God is setting in motion.
We are getting pregnant with a new Nigeria. A beautiful Nigeria. A valuable Nigeria. A wealthy Nigeria. In this new Nigeria it will be absurd to see people in the front seat of a moving car without their seat belt, or breaking the traffic light etc. There is a new Nigeria where if you don’t know how to live in an orderly society, you will be jailed. The present Nigeria we have is one in which people believe you can’t succeed in business except you are corrupt and give bribe, but there is a new Nigeria coming where corruption will be an aberration.

In the old Nigeria, when someone says I am going into business, you know what he or she meant. It means I’m going into contract mostly government contract. The value you place on yourself will affect your behavior, confession and how you treat yourself. One major problem I see around is that most people don’t believe they deserve a better life. For me, it is not a question of maybe or maybe not, Nigerians deserve a better way of life. When I drive on the street and see the deprivation, and poverty, I know they deserve a better quality of life.

But you have to begin from now to condition your environment to the new revelation of a new Nigeria. Become a new and different person and make a different demand on your environment. Carry a different atmosphere of your own. When Jesus was around, He said the kingdom of heaven is here. Know you are under a different government. You have a different constitution, which is superior to this natural one. There is no sickness or poverty around you in that environment.

If Lagos in 30 years’ time will become as beautiful as New York, it’s not the government that will fix your house for you or plant a green lane in front of your house. The government can only fix public places. You will have to be the government and do your part and your neighbor will do his part. That’s when the city will look better. The most forceful way to pass this message across is to become different. Do your part and God cannot but do His own part.

I drive myself around and people wonder why I do that. This is because the old Nigerian mindset is – as soon as God is blessing you a little bit, you should start sitting in the owner’s corner. The most comfortable place in a car by design is the driver’s seat- that’s the owner’s corner. That is why all the buttons that control things in the car are around that seat. If Jesus tarries, by the time I am ninety I will still be driving, not an old man condemned to the back seat.

In the new Nigeria, people will be empowered that it will be so expensive to employ the services of a driver. I’m saying this so people will begin to adjust. Instead of housemaid, you’d buy a dishwasher. Or washing machine, drying machine, and learn to do things yourself. The temptation in Nigeria is that as you become powerful, you get a siren. But that is not the new Nigeria I see, I see a new Nigeria where justice will be the order of the day and there will be equality. A new Nigeria where power will not be abused but used for the right purpose.
I see a new Nigeria, the dawn of a new day. Will you be part of it or remain in the confines of the old Nigeria?

  • Ibrahim.

Back then when i was in school, there were lots of inspiration of been successful, dreaming of having a great nation were you believe you cant just wait to graduate These were realms of mid night dreams as we find our selves in an environment were its no more of the sayings “you are the future of Nigeria”. You have said it all, what Nigerians have been through is enough to cause a disintegration a midst us,yet, we have been tenacious enough and have been stretched to the elastic limit, in fact approaching the breaking point,we still find ourselves been strong and lived like families. I pray and hope our dreams for Nigeria comes through.God bless you sir for your good work.

I make bold to say that I believe and have already begun living in this new Nigeria. It starts from the mind!

  • pastor Daniel Okogie

  • Cornelius

This is a great message and a very positive contribution to the ‘Nigeria project’s especially at this period when we are at a crossroad. It is important for us to be forward-looking and think of how we can be part of and contribute to a better society we all aspire towards. Thank you sir, for this message.

  • Daniel

I agree with you Mr Sam for this change write. While we are working towards this individual change that will metamorphosed into country change may God help us to make the right decisions as we vote.

  • OJ DICKSON

I join you to envisage a new Nigeria where the citizens will exercise their civic right to vote for a candidate they can hold accountable. A new Nigeria that will orient in what we can do for our great country, more than, in what our country can do for us. It’s a new dawn!

  • SUNDAY EZEKIEL

  • Bimbo

Thank you Pastor Sam, i also believe in this vision of a new Nigeria. I have been praying and would not cease until i see the manifestation of this new Nigeria and like you said sir, it begins with you and me. God grant us the grace to do what is right and needful per time. It is my prayer that this forth coming election will be like the battle between David and Goliath and will usher in a revolution that will move us closer to the change we all desire.

  • ABIMBOLA

God bless you for this comment Sir. May this change be peaceful in JESUS name. AmenA

Thank you Sir.This is kind of Nigeria I dream of for me,my family n entire Nigerians. Even if I am not there yet,I am going to get.Let us all play our part with truth n sincerity. God bless you sir.

  • Adeyinka Bello

It begins from the mind. I am part of it.

  • opeyemi

This is a powerful one. I just have to realise I am the Nigeria we talk about and so is everyone, therefore I should determine how to beautify it, make it better, put in it what I want to see&enjoy because all I do points back at me, so also you. Permit me to share the yoruba adage that says ‘oko taa ba so mo ope, lope so mo ni’ I.e the exact stone you throw at a palm tree is the stone the palm tree throws at you. Hmmmm. More honour, grace and wisdom to you sir, in Jesus name.

  • ANTHONY OKWUASHA

tank you sir for adding to my expection about nigeria

  • Tony Effanga

Thanks for your thought provoking revealation. well nigerians especially we in the coaching programme are already seeing a new nigeria.

  • Thanks for the article. Gen. Buhari cannot bring the change Nigeria as a nation truly deserves. Proverbs 25:5 says “take away the wicked from a ruler the and his throne will be established in righteousness”. With the PDP past corrupt leaders and people that have acquired Lagos State properties surrounding the General Buhari I do not think his government can bring CHANGE to Nigeria. Corrupt association will always corrupt good manner.

In 1 Samuel 8. The elders of the nation of Israel demanded for a change of government because Samuel two sons were corrupt. Did the Lord God pleased with their demand even though He gave them king Saul as king for the change they demanded for? Was there a positive change in Israel through Saul’s government?

I think we as Christians should give the President Goodluck Jonathan government another chance to correct the wrong our nation has experience in time past.

Thank you and God bless Nigeria.

  • Adedayo Orukotan

This is the change we are talking about. I see a Nigeria with hopes

  • Oluwaseyi

This is the era I have been waiting for. A new Nigeria that I will bold to beat my chest that I am a Nigerian.my prayer is that May God help us all to be obedient to His spirit. Thank you sir my father for sharing this with us. God bless you

  • Bridget

God bless Nigeria .thank you sir. We will surely see the new Nigeria of our dream as we start with us…..I have observed that believers, we pray and pray for our nation but do not exercise our rights to vote because we have been deceived and blinded that believers have nothing to do with politics …..moreover it is a dirty game ,we say . Are the Angels going to make it a clean game?? Myles murone of blessed memory always says …you are kingdom and the kingdom is you, we are to dominate….and I ask, do we dominate and take over Nigeria for Christ by just talking about the government while we play no part in it. The bible says the children of this world are wiser…….( in their craftiness and ways)
Have you paused to see how they strategically multiply themselves in every sector they step in??? Anywhere they step in, they come in as what and who they represent and will do anything in advancement of their kingdom…….gradually replicating themselves, their believes and I dare say their disciples (taking territories, dominating etc) while we are boxed in our 4walls of a church mindset….we are not to dominate inside the church nor ministry but out there in the office, business, politics ,neighborhood , then we replicate and multiply Christ till we takeover consciously and purposefully with the mindset and agenda that I am kingdom of God, then you can decide the way happens and not in Nigeria else whoever dominate and take over your territory makes the decision ….of course. It will be binding on you irrespective of your belief… Thank pastor Sam, new Nigeria starts with me and I want to step out on Monday to Saturday everywhere I come in as The kingdom has stepped in and everything I do MUST be in the direction of advancing the kingdom and multiplying Christ likeness….God bless you as we truly represent the kingdom we are to see the Nigeria of our dream ,where our generations and posterity will bless us for truly living the kingdom and NOT self…

    • Terry

Hmmm. The problem with Christians.. How does taking Nigeria from a Christian and handing it over to an uneducated jihadist and his gang of legendary treasury looters led by the most corrupt Nigerian politician in modern day Nigeria …. How does that usher in a “new Nigeria”??

      • Abimbola

Stop this attitude of religious differentiation. Terry pls a place like Dubai is so beautiful……economy, health, welfare, housing et al. They are Muslims my brother. Kindly look at NIGERIA getting better from now on. The real truth is the new Change we desire has nothing to do with a muslim winning a clueless brother. Its that finally OUR VOTES COUNT. We have a VOICE. Thank you

        • Terry

I expect the admin of this forum to caution against the use of abusive words against President Jonathan. But, I may be sitting on a long thing.

Dubai is beautiful… Yes of course. But Dubai is just a city and the entire UAE is not beautiful. I also do not understand how Dubai wipes out the fact that the Christians in the South West allowed the love for ethnic group to direct their voting against their faith in the last presidential election and rather went for for an uneducated Jihadist just because they dangled a houseboy position for their “brother”.

Nigeria is doomed… President Jonathan is indeed the last President of a united Nigeria. That is all I have to say.

Since this is a church forum, I charge the church to go into prayers and ask for revelation. Your VOTE has been used to enthrone blood thirsty Islamic demons in Aso Rock in the name of change.

I sustained my hope for a great and better Nigeria even in the midst of sacarstic comments by fellow youth against a better Nigeria. This is my country, and I am persuaded that God will do something through you and I for change in Nigeria. Pastor Sam, thanks for fueling the fire in me. I don’t need to run to developed country to make it, with discipline, diligence, focus on our vision and setting goals, we can set a world of christlike integrity as example and that makes the change to start with us. Its not only about who emerges the leader, its more about we citizens building the right world around us. Please let’s effect the change in our home, offices and community and it will be a reality. Bless you all.

Thank you sir for always inspiring hope.the new Nigeria you have painted is a Nigeria we have all hoped for. One I look forward to living in and work towards. God bless you sit.

What a nice thinking and a good perspective to a new life Sir, but even how many so called man of God can do this? talk less of the so called rich people of our dear Country?. I see these also and it is my prayer that it will come to reality even in our days. Amen. May God help us to choosing a man after His own heart,

I see a new Nigeria, where Health is paramount and the services are affordable. A new Nigeria where the Nigerian can access health services back home. A new Nigeria where education will be for the total development of the man, not just to pass exams and get out with a beautiful result but unable to offer anything to the society. A new Nigeria where round pegs are fitted into round holes. A new Nigeria where our door could be ajar while we sleep but we are not afraid of being robbed and killed. A new Nigeria where trust is in words and deeds. Yes Sir! I believe the new Nigeria is just by the corner

  • Godwin

I see a new Nigeria where all the systems are run by LOVE!

  • Charles Eregare

Thank you sir, for painting for us the Nigeria we all desire l strongly beliieve that with such picture in our mind we shall begin to future we desire for this our great nation and not the disaster that had been painted by other because you get what you see. I SEE A NEW NIGERIA thank you sir

  • Mfon Etuk

Hello Sir, God bless you for enlightening us on what the better Nigeria should and will look like. Many pray for a better country but have no perspective of what it should look like because all they know of is a country where there is no human equality, where some life’s have a higher value than others, where the poor have little or no hope of becoming someone great tomorrow. I always pray and believe the Nigeria of our dream will start when we actively participate in the governance of this our great Nation. Thereby pushing out the corrupt and evil people and voting in men and women of integrity and a good heart for its fellow human beings. It will surely happen in my lifetime by God’s grace. Thank you once again Sir and GOD bless.

  • Bayo Adaramola

Thank you Pastor for the message. I believe the new Nigeria will be accelerated, if in our churches we begin to reject tithes and offerings of many of our members who are contractors against reality checks of incomes or wealth obtained through offered bribes or unethical payments prior or after job execution in respect of the contracts they were awarded. We should begin to demand practical standards from professing Christians if we will indeed see the new Nigeria. God bless.

  • Dominique

A beautiful, valuable and wealthy Nigeria I see. I am committed to this project Nigeria, n I Pledge to her success and beauty, so help me God, amen!

  • Olayemi . S. Ganiyu

I believe in the dream of a New Nigeria. I will contribute my quota. Even if it doesn’t happen now, it will surely happen and my children and children’s children will benefit from it and also be proud of me. Yes I BELIEVE.

  • Eseh Nelson

I was in darkness mentally until I read your book, Ideas Rule The World. Since then my life had totally changed. Some try to take credit but I know were my real change began… As a level two mentee, my life is not the same again by God’s grace. I thank God for your life and ministry. I believe in a new Nigeria! I also believe we (your mentees) are the future.

  • Maclean WOKOH

My dear Pastor Sam, I very much share your optimism for a new Nigeria. But God help us. The sponsors of the two major parties does not give us a ray of hope given their antecedents. Most of them have bought Nigeria . They haras us out of the way that we have equal right to use ,using their Sirens and the services of our paid Police officers. What we need is a revolution. A thorough overhall of the system. Elective positions should be made less financially enticing, so we can get selfless Leaders. Sorry Sir, we don’t have any yet.

  • Thank you sir for your vision of a new Nigeria and I strongly believe that Nigeria will get better. Whenever I think about the happenings in our great country, I wonder at times if God is silent over us but at other times,i get the insight that God is actually preparing the Josephs and the Davids of our time for that new Nigeria that we desire and I know soonest it will materialize. I CAN’T WAIT

  • Nsidibe Okpongete

Wow God bless you Sir for this life changing message. I’ve been praying for my beloved country for years now as you taught us most especially during this elections period, but I just took a very drastic action today that made some of my friends wonder why I had to sacrifice all that just to vote. I registered in Lagos & had to relocate ending of last year to Abuja and I was not able to transfer my voting location to Abuja. So today I’d been at the airport since 2pm just to catch the last Dana flight to Lagos at about 7:20pm & we arrived few minutes to 9pm. I told my friends that faith without corresponding action is dead so I had to back up my prayers by also casting my vote to who I feel is the right candidate. So change actually begins with me and I want my vote to count. God bless Nigeria.

  • Simeon Olagoke Awopetu

Dear Pastor Sam, The Pregnancy of a new Nigeria is already in the Labour Room as it will be delivered today. By the special grace of GOD, it will not be a still-birth as it was in 1993, June 12 to be precise. When GOD plans a thing, He goes ahead and employs servant to carry it out. We Nigerians with our PVC and voting right are the mid-wives to deliver the new Nigeria. The good LORD will make us celebrate, it happened last year in the case of the outbreak of EBOLA, the entire world was surprised for the way GOD saved Nigeria

  • Abosede

HELLO ALL: Pls may i make this request ?… Can the vision of this new Nigerian be cast and re- casted! Could we share it in the market, schools(primary, secondary et al) let the young hear it, the old see it, let this vision painted above be every where, let it be sang in songs, spoken in poems, told in stories, churched/ mosques, across ethnic divides. Across the states, on social medias, radio, Television. Pastor Sam has started the fire in our hearts, let us further the sparks, we can make this a quiet Revolution that Becomes a movement( a belief system that will become our life style in a very short while” vision New Nigeria” please recast tell one tell all in every way Possible. God bless Pastor Sam, God bless Nigeria, God bless all of us.Amen.

  • Oluwafunmilola

Thank you sir for being a great visionary as you. I pray we all shall be part of this new Nigeria.

Sir, as you are analyzing this new Nigeria, my eyes are opening the more to my responsibities in the new Nigeria.

  • Opelopeope

Hmmm. New Nigeria? I wish we could take out all our rulers, molesters, … in leadership identity from the system. Then the new Nigeria awake. My worry is that most Nigerians see any government that would penalize her citizens for not adhering to what you portrait as the attributes of new Nigerians as the act of wickedness. We need total transformation of our mindset to get it right. Thanks a lot Sir! May the Lord help to experience the new Nigeria after today’s election.

  • Philo Josephus Awara

I am 100% sir seeing the new Nigeria materializing in full speed coming so fast more Dan what it looks like in the old Nigeria.God bless Nigeria

God bless you Sir for the inspiring words and God bless Nigeria. As we take action we and our descendants will surely thrive in the New Nigeria.

  • Samuel Adeyemi

This is the Nigeria that will only be determine by my actions and yours just like Pastor Sam pointed out. We don’t just wish for it, we must work for it. Nigeria belong to Nigerians and that we must show in our decision making. GOD BLESS NIGERIA!

  • OM

Just like Romans 12:2, it begins with constantly renewing of the mind. When the thought within is transformed then apply the change without.

  • Soki

God bless you sir and bless Nigeria. I believe with the outcome of the last elections we are beginning to see the new Nigeria. We will do our part in contributing to its glory as role models and keep Nigeria on a steady path of growth and greatness. keep the flag flying sir.

Welcome to the New Nigerian blog which focuses on suggestions of how to imrpove the socioeconomic climate in Nigeria.Changing
the way a society thinks or operates is one of the hardest things to
do. Indeed, many have tried and failed. But there have been the
occasional success stories of people and organisations, who against all
odds have improved the fortunes of millions of people. Nigeria is
a country that has been mismanaged for decades and many of its
citizens, Nigerians are now getting together to bring about change in the way the country is run to improve the lives of its citizens.I challenge you to picture yourself in a new Nigeria.I see a #NEWNIGERIAN!

    God’s People will Be Preserved

    Revelation 7:1

And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of
the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not
blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.
    2And
I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the
living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom
it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.

    144,000 Sealed

4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

5Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

    Praise from the Great Multitude

    9After
this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number,
of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the
throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in
    their hands;
10And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.
11And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,
12Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
    14And
I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they
which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and
made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
    15Therefore
are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his
temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
16They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
    17For
the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall
lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all
tears from their eyes. God Himself is set to do a New Thing… Is a New You, New World,

God’s teachings to your everyday life. In Path of Integrity,
explore the Bible story of Joseph and his brothers, and discover the
meaning it has for you on your own journey. The story of Joseph reminds
us that even when our dreams have been thrown in a pit, that those
dreams can be revived, and can show us the way to our own path of
integrity. You may use this program either with your group, your
friends, or individually, to discover new spiritual insights about your
life which will help you feel closer to the Lord. At times, we all find ourselves wandering off the path of integrity. We
know this because we feel stuck, or have a hard time hearing our inner
voice. We may obsess about outward things like the shape of our bodies,
or the items we possess. We may laugh when we mean to cry, say yes when
we mean no, refuse to look at our mistakes, or give “love” with lots of
strings attached. So how do we step back on track? How do we become
empowered, joyful and clear of purpose? The knowledge gained from our experiences can live on, but the desires that have gotten carried away…When something comes up where you feel pulled to do something that’s not
in line with the dream you identified – the kind of life you want to
live, think of Joseph saying to Potiphar’s wife, “How could I do this
thing and sin against God?Joseph is remembered by the butler and pulled from prison. He interprets
Pharaoh’s dreams, explaining that there will be seven years of plenty,
and then seven years of famine. He makes a plan of action and encourages
Pharoah to store up the grain. This plan proves to be a great one
–because of all the grain that’s been stored up, the people of Egypt
have plenty of food when famine strikes.
    We all
experience good times and hard times. It’s important to store up the
good experiences so that when the lean years hit, there will be
something to fall back on. Plan what you will do to make
that dream a reality in your life and take action everyday. Enjoy these
small actions, knowing that you’re storing up good memories for a time
when it’s not so easy. When you hit those “lean years” remember that you don’t have to do this
alone. Ask God for help. Also ask others for help. Learn what you can –
read information that will help orient you back to your dream, and help
you stay in integrity. God bless you greatly… I see you succeeding 🙂
